Rebuild Bay County moving into A.D. Harris Learning Village
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -The City of Panama City’s Community Redevelopment Agency announced on Friday, that Rebuild Bay County is moving into the A.D. Harris building.
Rebuild Bay will be managing A.D. Harris and applying for the Community Change Grant for A.D. Harris in partnership with Panama City’s Downtown North CRA, Rebuild Bay, and United Way of NWFL.
“This is a great first step for A.D. Harris and its ability to serve the Glenwood Neighborhood and the City of Panama City as a community resiliency center. The City is excited to have A.D. Harris serve the community as a self-sustaining asset and provide additional value for our citizens. It will also serve as a hub for disaster response and recovery as part of an integrated disaster management approach alongside Bay County Emergency Services efforts,” City Manager Jonathan Hayes, said.
Rebuild Bay is leading the effort in applying for the Community Change Grant alongside the City of Panama City and the United Way of NWFL. The grant is a part of the $2 billion Inflation Reduction Act funds.
“We are optimistic about our application for the Community Change Grant and the application team’s hard work. If successful, the City has a chance to change the landscape of how we serve our community during times of greatest need and fully realize A.D. Harris’s full potential,” said City Commissioner Janice Lucas.
